Media Transfer was established in 2010. Starting out life with a focus on 8mm cine film conversions, the company quickly broadened its services and can now carry out transfers of almost all analogue and digital video tape formats, as well as audio.
As well as offering transfer services to the home user, we have also carried out work for Police forces, The BBC, and Councils.
Media Transfer covers the whole of Kent with drop-off points in Ashford, Folkestone, Maidstone, Ramsgate, and Tonbridge. Furthermore, we operate a collection/delivery service across Kent, Surrey, and London, and we can reach the whole of the UK and even Europe by a postal service, with regular orders from France and the U.S.
Media Transfer offers a huge range of transfer services to keep pace with technology and allow customers to view and preserve their old memories. We can transfer almost all old media formats and we carry out all the transfers on our premises in Gravesend, Kent. During office hours, you can drop off and collect your transfers from our premises in Gravesend without making an appointment. Alternatively, you can post your media to us whereupon we will process the media and return via tracked post or courier. For orders over £150.00, we now offer a free collection and delivery service within Gravesham, Dartford, Medway, Maidstone, Thanet, the Weald, and Bromley (DA, ME, TN, CT, RH, BR, and London postcode areas). The collections and deliveries are carried out by our own staff and not a courier.
We have been members of the Blue Light Card and Defence Discount Service since 2017, supporting Emergency Services workers, NHS workers, social care sector workers and the Armed Forces. We also discount orders from registered charities by 5%.

We are constantly investing in equipment, both old and new. To get the best out of our machines, most are serviced every 30 days, ensuring you receive the best results possible from your tapes and reels.
In 2021, we increased our studio capacity to enable us to capture over 300 hours of footage per day.
In 2022, we added 9 new formats to our ever growing list of media we can convert, and made a £10,000 upgrade in our film scanning equipment.
In 2023 we have already added 3 new formats, with 5 more planned in the next 6 months.
We are extremely conscious of the environment and the impact we make in the world. All paper and packaging is recycled; all equipment is repaired, re-used, or recycled for parts when necessary; lighting in our offices uses the latest in highly efficient LED technology; our air conditioning is rated A+.
In the past 4 years we have not produced a single bag of un-recyclable waste.
In 2020 we launched a trade-in scheme to help prevent customers equipment ending up in landfill. We are able to utilise a lot of parts in house.
In 2023 we launched an online parts shop for parts we cannot make use of ourselves.
In the last 4 years, our customers have helped us raise in excess of £2,500.00 for charities and good causes, including ellenor, Air Ambulance Kent Surrey and Sussex, Help For Heros, Kent Sports Trust, Cancer Research, and Mind.
Our recently launched mobile phone to DVD service (Phone2) gives £1 for every sale to our charities. In the last 6 months of 2022 we raised £250.00 for the EHMF.
