Placing an order
To place an order, visit our Gravesend office, drop your floppy disks in to one of our drop-off points (Maidstone, Tonbridge, Ashford, Folkestone, or Ramsgate), or post your floppy disks to Media Transfer, 56 Bath Street, Gravesend, Kent DA11 0DF. Return postage is FREE for orders of 15+ floppy disks. Otherwise, see our list of return postage costs here.

If you have 20+ floppy disks and live in the DA, ME, Kent TN, BR, and some RH postcode areas, we now offer free personal collection AND delivery of your floppy disks. Just give us a call on 01474 569 390 to arrange a collection.

Floppy disk history

A floppy disk, also known as a floppy, diskette, or simply disk, is a type of disk storage composed of a disk of thin and flexible magnetic storage medium, sealed in a rectangular plastic enclosure lined with fabric that removes dust particles. They were a common form of data storage and exchange from the mid-1970s into the first years of the 21st century but by 2006 computers were rarely manufactured with installed floppy disk drives anymore.
