We digitise old tapes, films and photographs and deliver your memories as modern digital files — MP4, USB, Blu-ray or DVD. Based in Gravesend, Kent, we’ve been converting home videos and professional media since 2010, and have digitised over 30,000 tapes for more than 5,000 customers across the UK.

We handle everything from consumer formats like VHS, Hi8 and MiniDV to professional broadcast formats including Digital Betacam, HDCAM and U-Matic. Every transfer is carried out in-house at our Gravesend studio — your media never leaves our building to be processed by a third party.

Whether you’ve got one tape or a hundred, we give you a full cost breakdown before we start, charge only on completion, and offer free collection and delivery across Kent, London, Surrey and East Sussex for orders of 10 or more tapes.

All transfers are carried out entirely in-house at our Gravesend studio. Your tapes and films never leave our building. We’ve safely handled over 30,000 tapes since 2010.

We give you a full, itemised quote before we begin. You pay only on completion — by credit or debit card, bank transfer, or cash. No surprises.

Professional-grade equipment

We capture video in 10-bit uncompressed format using broadcast-grade decks, maintained monthly. The same technology used to digitise Digital Betacam, HDCAM and U-Matic tapes for TV and film archives.

Fast turnaround

Standard turnaround is 7–14 days. We offer free collection and delivery within Kent, London, Surrey and East Sussex for orders of 10 or more items.

Consumer video tapes start from £12.99 (up to 60 mins) or £16.99 (over 60 mins), regardless of output format. Quantity discounts of up to 25% apply for multiple tapes.

    Media Transfer is one of the UK’s most experienced tape digitising services. Based at our studio in Gravesend, Kent, our team has a combined 30+ years in the video industry and handles formats that most other services simply can’t – from domestic VHS and camcorder tapes to professional broadcast formats like Digital Betacam, HDCAM SR and U-Matic.

    We digitise video tapes, cine films, audio reels, 35mm slides, negatives, photographs and data media. Our studio is capable of capturing up to 300 hours of footage per day, and we deliver in virtually any format — including ProRes, H.264 MP4, H.265 HEVC, AVI and more.
